on November 15, 2018, at 18: 30, our college conducted an academic lecture on the theme of "Design value and Service Design," in Hall 2 of the College Student activity Center. The guest speaker is Professor Zhou Feng, Dean of School of Art and Design, Hubei University of Technology. The lecture was presided over by Ren Junjun, vice president of our institute. Director Wang Zhiyun, director of advertising department, Zhang Li, Ma Lan, Liu Bin, Wang Yuxiang, du Wei and other teachers and more than 400 students attended the lecture.
Professor Zhou Feng has been devoted to art, design, research and education for many years, and has also paid attention to professional practice. He has presided over the design of Wuhan Donghu Scenic spot, Yangtze River Securities Co., Ltd., Hubei Yangtze River Capital Investment Fund Co., Ltd. Hubei TV silver new information column, Hubei cancer hospital, Wuhan Weijie broadband corporate image; Planning "Cross-Border-Wuhan Young artists Exhibition", "Da Ya Yang-Master print Exhibition", "Liu Yiyuan Wuhan Vanke Maoyuan solo exhibition", "impact and voice" and other art exhibition activities; For the Hubei Communist Youth League, Hubei Provincial Party Committee Organization Department and other multi-departmental meetings to cooperate with the design work. Magazine, Art Network, dedicated to the dissemination and promotion of Hubei artists, has created a local influence of the art media platform.
In the lecture, Professor Zhou Feng talked about the design value and service design. First, he proposed that design is the solution to the problem. Design is a strategic method and process to solve the problem. It can be applied to products and systems. Service and experience to achieve business success and improve the quality of life. He believes that the future design should be cross-border, cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary integration development, the value of art design is to solve the problem. Then Professor Zhou Feng listed the works of many masters in the world, such as product design, architectural design, environmental design and so on. He demonstrated the value of excellent designers and the development potential of design in the future.
Finally, Professor Zhou Feng expressed his unique views on issues such as traditional cultural inheritance and innovation, indicating that design should not only be innovative but also inherited, urging students to read extensively in peacetime and constantly strengthen their knowledge reserve. Grasp the development direction of design in the new period, and strive to enhance their innovative design ability.
