The School of Foreign Languages successfully holds the first ideological and political teaching competition

(Reporter: Xia Wei) In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Work Conference on National Undergraduate Education in the New Era, fulfill the philosophy of “educating the students with both morality and knowledge”, and further promote the reform of ideological and political teaching in foreign language curriculums, the School of Foreign Languages held the first ideological and political teaching competition on November 19, 2020.

According to the requirements, the teachers participating in the competition had to showcase a complete classroom teaching design scheme within 10 minutes, demonstrate the integration of English language and education elements, achieve the organic combination of “knowledge teaching” and “value guidance”, and present the functions in terms of “shaping values, developing capabilities and teaching knowledge”.

After a dedicated selection process, 10 teachers from the English Department, the Translation Department, the Business English Department, the College English Teaching Department and the Graduate Foreign Language Teaching Department participated in the competition. The teachers said that based on the excellent study and exchanging platform, they will further integrate ideological and political education into the teaching objectives, curriculums and teaching methods of foreign language education, and improve their ideological and political teaching capabilities.

After the intense and fierce competition process, the judges finally decided 3 winners of first prizes, 3 winners of second prizes and 4 winners of third prizes based on the open, fair and just rating criterion:

Winners of second prizes: Lu Yuting, Liu Nian, Zhou Min

Winners of third prizes: Cheng Manli, Shu Yang, Wang Dongmei, Wang Changzhi
