(Yang Xue, Tao Dongjie) On May 15, 2021, The Founding of the Party in One Hundred Years: Starting a New Journey to Establish Modern Finance and Taxation System and the Construction of First-class Major and First-class Curriculum in Finance Seminar and the Standing Council of National Higher Education Finance Teaching Research Association was successfully held in Hubei University of Economics.The conference was hosted by the National Society of Higher Education Finance Teaching and organized by the School of Finance and Public Administration of Hubei University of Economics. Financial experts and scholars from Central University of Finance and Economics, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Wuhan University, Nanjing Audit University, Liaoning University and more than a dozen other universities attended the seminar.

The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Prof. Cai Hongying, President of our college. Wen Xingsheng, Secretary of the University Party Committee, and Professor Ma Haitao, Vice President of Central University of Finance and Economics, delivered a speech at the meeting.

In his speech, Secretary Wen Xingsheng welcomed all the experts and scholars to Hubei University of Economics to discuss the establishment of modern fiscal and tax system and the construction of first-class majors and courses of public finance. He pointed out that universities exist for students first and foremost, and the core goal is the cultivation of talents. The novelty of new engineering, new agriculture and new arts lies in the recombination of majors and courses, which is student-oriented. In the context of the current innovative development of liberal arts education, how to change the layout of major and training mode, and how to provide students with high-quality learning experience are the important challenges of talent training. He looked forward to a full exchange of ideas and ideas from the financial experts on how to respond to these challenges.

Chairman Ma Haitao thanked Hubei University of Economics for their hard work in organizing this conference and welcomed all the experts and scholars to Hua-Lin Conference. He pointed out that the theme of this seminar is to focus on the reform of public finance education and teaching, learn from the reform experience of universities, communicate with each other, and comprehensively improve the quality of public finance education and teaching. This paper puts forward the key problems of the construction of finance specialty from four aspects: how to promote the interdisciplinary and integrated development of finance, the natural ideological and political elements of finance curriculum, the construction of teaching material system of finance specialty and the cultivation of postgraduates.
