The Institute of Information Engineering held a seminar on the development of artificial intelligence in financial colleges and universities

Our online news (Correspondent Du Yun) On November 1, the seminar on the development of artificial intelligence disciplines in financial colleges and universities was held in the conference room of the Institute of Information Engineering in a combination of online and offline. Lu Xiaocheng, Vice President, Tian Hao, Dean of the Institute of Information Engineering, Li Hongyan, Vice President, experts and scholars in the field of artificial intelligence, professors in relevant disciplines of our school, and young teachers attended the meeting, which was chaired by Tian Hao, Dean of the Institute.

At the meeting, Vice President Lu Xiaocheng first welcomed and addressed the guests on behalf of the school, introducing that the school has determined the development goal of building engineering as the main discipline category of the school during the 14th Five Year Plan period. It is necessary to actively explore the development of artificial intelligence disciplines in financial colleges and universities, so as to achieve the integrated development of new engineering and new liberal arts. Dean Tian Hao made the report Exploration and Practice of the Development of Artificial Intelligence Discipline in Our University, and introduced the special guests in turn.

Professor Hu Hongxin, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the State University of New York at Buffalo, gave an academic report entitled Artificial Intelligence and Cyberspace Security. The report focused on the field of artificial intelligence and security, and introduced some new research progress of his team in the field of artificial intelligence security. Professor Luo Yong, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Computer Science of Wuhan University, and a scholar of the Youth Thousand Talents Program of the Central Organization Department, gave an academic report entitled Cross domain pulmonary nodule detection. He introduced the deep learning technology represented by convolutional neural network into the field of pulmonary nodule detection, effectively helping doctors complete this labor-intensive task. Professor He Tingting, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Computer Science of Central China Normal University, director of the National Language Resources Monitoring and Research Network Media Center and director of the Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Smart Learning in Hubei Province, gave an academic report entitled Language Intelligence and Language Services, introduced the relevant research on language intelligence and language services, and shared the experience of interdisciplinary AI research, talent training and discipline construction; Professor Jiang Yimin, chairman of Wuhan Optics Valley Information Technology Co., Ltd. and industry professor of Hubei Province, gave a speech entitled Engineering Research and Application of GeoAI, showing typical examples of deep integration of artificial intelligence applications such as computer vision, deep learning, robots and geographic information science, pointing out that intelligent space-time applications have moved from academia to industry and life.

After the reports of several specially invited experts were completed, the participating teachers and several experts had an exchange and discussion on relevant issues in the interdisciplinary field of artificial intelligence.
