从中国境内发生了新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎疫情，到现在八个多月过去了，世界上众多国家和地区还在与新冠病毒进行着斗争。我们非常高兴，所有的同学都身心健康。
It has been more than eight months since the novel coronavirus-caused pneumonia epidemic occurred in China, and many countries & regions in the world are still struggling with the disease now. We are very happy that all the students are lucky and keep well physically and mentally.
按照国家和湖北省的统一部署，每所湖北省内的大学都制定了疫情期间的防控制度和校园管理规定。为遏制疫情蔓延，保证每位学生的生命安全和身体健康，现在我们特别通知您：
According to the state and Hubei Province arrangements, universities in Hubei Province have developed prevention and control systems and campus management regulations during the epidemic period in order to prevent the spread of the epidemic. To ensure the safety and health of every student, SIE now informs you as below:
一、2020年秋季学期开学时间 2020 Autumn Semester Open Day
学校拟定于9月1日正式开学。将视疫情防控情况，最终开学日期还将在8月20日左右另行通知。我们会及时通过您申请本校时使用的电子邮箱或您的个人微信及微信群进行发送，请及时关注。
HBUE is scheduled to start its Autumn Term on September 1. In case of the sudden changes of the epidemic control situation, the final decision of the starting day of the 2020 Autumn Semester will be notified again around August 20th. We will timely inform you through your application email box, wechat and wechat group notice. Please check the contact information.
二、请您务必不要提前入境No entry in advance
为您和他人健康，请各位同学未接到学校正式通知入境前不要入境。涉及到签证等问题，学校将在收到相关主管部门的通知后为您办理，大家不必担心学校单方面因疫情注销您的学籍或取消签证等。但提前抵校者，学校不负责办理包括延长签证期限等在内的所有入学注册手续，学校亦无法为提前抵校学生提供校内隔离或住宿。
For your safety and the health as well as others, please be informed that no students can enter if not received official notice of back to school from SIE. When it comes to the visa issue, the school will handle it for you after receiving the notification from the relevant authorities. You don't have to worry about the school unilaterally cancelling your status or cancelling your visa because of epidemic. However, early arrival at the school, the school is not responsible for residence permits, registration procedures, etc. Or is able to provide on-campus quarantine and accommodation.
三、关于疫情期间线上教学的方案Learning Mode
对于确定正常学业的学生，所有英文授课课程教学模式将调整为线上线下教学同时进行。在校生在教室上课，国际教育学院老师在教室现场为学生录制课堂教学内容，任课教师将在课堂上通过网络现场与学生互动；教学资料由任课教师发给同学。
All courses taught in English will be offered to students who are determined to continue study and will be adjusted to online and offline at the same time. Course teachers will be present in the classroom ,teachers from the SIE record classroom academic activities/lectures for students in the classroom. Course teacher will respond overseas students online and deliver the course material online to overseas students too.
由于少量任课教师目前仍然在境外无法返校，学期内将采取如春季学期的完全线上授课的方式。
Because a small number of teachers are still abroad, they cannot return to school campus either. During this semester, the full online teaching mode will be adopted, such as of the spring semester.
具体教学时间安排课程信息将于8月31日前发到您的邮箱或微信上。
The specific teaching schedule and course information will be sent to your mailbox or wechat before August 31st.
四、对于希望变动学习计划的同学For students who want to delay or suspension of school
如果您想在2020年秋季学期休学，请及时与国际教育学院班主任老师联系。我们会为您办理相关手续，但请您务必注意本科生学习时间最长为6年，逾期无法获得学位证书。
If you want to suspend your study in the autumn of 2020, please contact the tutor immediately. SIE will help you with relevant procedure and contact with academic department as well. Please be noted that the max study length of undergraduate learning is 6 years and if you cannot finish bachelor’s degree requirements with in 6 years, the degree cannot be obtained.
由于此次疫情的突发和不可预见，给您下学期行程造成一定程度的影响，学校深感遗憾。学校高度重视此次疫情防控工作，始终坚持把师生生命安全和身心健康放在第一位，因此由衷希望得到您的理解、支持与配合。
Because of the unexpected and unpredictable nature of this epidemic situation, the formation of the next semester may cause some trouble. SIE deeply regrets. HBUE attaches great importance to the epidemic prevention work and will always put the safety and health of students and teachers in the first place. We sincerely hope to get your understanding, support and cooperation.
