Founded in 2005, the School of International Education functions in both teaching and administration in the process of implementing and managing the international cooperative education programs and international student affairs. Targeting at the central task of the university and at carrying out the university's strategy of opening up to the world, the School of International Education tries to make a full use of the university's international resources by conglomerating the advanced international teaching philosophies and management experiences into its international education exchange and cooperation and into its exchange and cooperation with universities from other countries.

The School adheres to the open education philosophy via the wide-ranged multi-level ambient exchange and cooperation in the international education and hereby constantly raises its internationalization level. Since its foundation, the School has actively introduced high-quality educational resources from other countries, setting up collaborations with some well-known universities in France, Australia and the United Kingdom, etc. It has launched the Sino-French and Sino-Australian Cooperative Education Projects and the Sino-British Pre-Masters Project, covering five jointly-taught majors, namely financial management and practice, accounting, business management, international finance and public relations. It gives full play to the advantages of both sides. On the one hand, it provides an ideal studying abroad channel by such services as recruiting, training, and electing students; on the other, it carries out the Studying in China Plan of China’s Ministry of Education by recruiting and fostering the international students coming to China. Besides, to promote the national strategy of international Chinese education and to enhance the world’s understanding of Chinese language and culture, the School develops the friendly relations between China and foreign countries, facilitates the development of cultural diversity of the university and increases its international visibility and influence.

In recent years, the School comprehensively explored and expanded the education of international students in respect of teaching philosophy, training mode, and student management. The number of international students increases steadily. Students come from some 30 countries including Japan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, Rwanda, Ghana, Ethiopia, Botswana, Burundi, Equatorial Guinea, Uganda, Mozambique, Cameroon, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Bangladesh, Morocco, Liberia, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and Kenya. Currently, the School has set up two programs that are qualified for giving a bachelor’s degree—International Economics and Trade & International Business, along with a set of medium- and short-term Chinese language programs, and thus forming a relatively complete education system.

The School of International Education will concentrate on the goal of building a high-level university of finance and economics and will follow the scientific development strategy, namely, to explore actively for a steady advancement and to standardize the management for an improved quality, to comprehensively improve the management of and the regulations on the studying in China programs, seeking for a continual and sustainable growth in both quantity and quality. The School will keep on its efforts in developing cooperative education programs with other countries to contribute to the university's internationalization.
