A workshop to Exchange Experience in Discipline Competitions by STHM

To comprehensively summarize the work experience of discipline competition, maintain the good quality of discipline competition, and keep facilitating the linkage and integration of teaching and research “1+1>2,” so as to achieve the purpose of “promoting learning and teaching quality through competition,” a discipline competition experience exchange and sharing meeting was held in Conference Room 103 on the afternoon of March 24th, 2022. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Chen Lishuang and attended by all faculty members and some student representatives.

At the meeting, Gao Qiong and five other teachers shared their valuable experience in competition instruction. They sorted out and analyzed together the features of the competitions, covering track selection and event upgrading, and mainly shared their work experience and understanding of discipline competition instruction, respectively taking “Internet Plus Collegiate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition,” “National Collegiate Challenge of E-Commercial Innovation/Creativity/Entrepreneurship,” “Brand Planning Contest of China University Business Elite Challenge,” “Exhibition Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Contest of China University Business Elite Challenge,” “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest of China University Business Elite Challenge,” and “Business Award Tourism Planning Contest of China University Business Elite Challenge” as examples. Based on the analysis of the discipline competition work of our school, the teachers suggested enhancing the pertinence and effectiveness of competition instruction, attaching great importance to teamwork, and highlighting the innovation, integrity, feasibility, and professionalism of the projects used for contests.

In recent years, our teachers have guided students to participate in various relevant discipline competitions and achieved a series of high-quality competition results. Therefore, many of them have become excellent competition instructors. Vice Dean, Jiang Xin, summarized this activity, in which she emphasized the critical role discipline competition plays and encouraged teachers to summarize competition experience, actively strengthen the instruction of discipline competition, and improve the quality of academic personnel training constantly. At last, she interpreted the assignment scheme of each teacher’s teaching and research tasks.

This sharing activity has played a positive role in improving the instructive level of discipline competition for teachers of our school and accelerating the cultivation of students’ innovative, creative and entrepreneurial abilities.
