On December 7, 2024, the finals of the National Undergraduate Tax Risk Management Case Competition came to a close at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. Three teams from our school qualified for the finals and won one national first-prize award and two national second-prize awards.
The National Undergraduate Tax Risk Management Case Competition is recognized as a national-level competition in the Ministry of Education's Analysis Report on National College Student Competitions. The competition simulates real-life scenarios, focusing on tax-related risk analysis and prevention for taxpayers. It promotes a zero-distance connection between the teaching environment and student training in majors such as finance, taxation, accounting, and law, and establishes a collaborative innovation platform between the industry and universities. It is an innovative initiative in the process of building new liberal arts disciplines. The competition began in 2018 and has developed a three-level competition system of school-level preliminaries – regional competitions – finals. It is currently the most participated, widespread, large-scale, high-standard, and influential competition in the field of finance and taxation among national undergraduate universities. This competition was hosted by the Organizing Committee of the National Undergraduate Tax Risk Management Case Competition, guided by the Zhejiang Certified Tax Agents Association, and hosted by Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. A total of 3,064 teams and 9,192 students from 388 universities in 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities participated in the competition. Ultimately, 160 teams qualified for the national finals. After a day of intense competition, 24 teams won first-prize awards, 48 teams won second-prize awards, and 88 teams won third-prize awards in the national competition.
Since the preliminaries began, teachers and students of the School of Finance and Public Administration have attached great importance to and widely participated in the competition, forming multiple teams to participate. After the preliminaries, a total of 10 teams qualified for the provincial competition, and 3 teams qualified for the national competition.
