Teachers from Our School Visited Fujian Jiangxia University for Research
On December 5, 2024, a delegation of four teachers from our school, led by Wei Tao, the dean, along with Wu Xiong, the deputy secretary, Ren Li, the vice dean, and Shen Jie, the director of the Department of Administrative Management, visited Fujian Jiangxia University for in-depth research and exchanges. The purpose of this research visit was to learn from Fujian Jiangxia University's advanced experience in student cultivation and further promote the reform and development of education and teaching in our school.

The leaders of the School of Public Affairs at Fujian Jiangxia University, including Lai Yongbo, the dean, Chen Aofei, the deputy secretary, and Liu Yong, the vice dean, warmly received the delegation from our school and held a symposium in the conference room of the School of Public Affairs. During the symposium, Dean Lai first extended a warm welcome to Dean Wei and his delegation and briefly reviewed the long history of cooperation between the two universities. Subsequently, he introduced in detail the 12345 work plan of the School of Public Affairs, especially the outstanding achievements in building a public examination brand. To create a strong atmosphere for public examination studies, the school has taken a series of innovative measures, such as displaying the names of excellent students who have passed the postgraduate entrance examination and civil service examination on a scrolling display on the first floor of the teaching building, organizing meetings between freshmen and their parents and professional education symposiums, arranging teachers from the entire school to participate in professional cognition education for freshmen, and incorporating civil service examination-related content such as essay writing and administrative aptitude tests into the curriculum. Additionally, the school regularly holds civil service simulation competitions, providing valuable practical opportunities for students.

From the perspective of student affairs, Secretary Chen shared the unique experience of the school in student work. She emphasized that the school focuses on educating students from heart to mind, integrating career planning into the freshman orientation stage to guide students in establishing correct concepts for pursuing postgraduate studies, civil service examinations, and job seeking. At the same time, the school has implemented the University Student Growth Plan, which dynamically tracks changes in students' development goals through periodic follow-ups each semester and academic year. Furthermore, the school has created the Red Heart Shapes Dreams, Managing the World with Theory ideological and political project for university students, providing strong support for student development from the perspectives of value guidance and skill enhancement.

After listening to the introduction of the School of Public Affairs at Fujian Jiangxia University, Dean Wei provided a detailed introduction to the construction of our school, as well as the experience in building experimental classes and micro-majors, and expressed that the main purpose of this research visit was to learn from the valuable experience of the School of Public Affairs in student cultivation. Dean Ren shared the specific practices and successful experiences of our school in the promotion, recruitment, class management, and teacher-student ratio of micro-majors.

During the symposium, both sides also engaged in lively and in-depth exchanges on topics such as MPA construction, student cultivation systems, scientific research platform construction, and faculty development. Both sides unanimously expressed that they would take this research visit as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges between the two universities, jointly promote the improvement of education and teaching quality, and cultivate more high-quality and applied talents for society.

This research visit not only enhanced the friendship and cooperation between the two universities but also provided new ideas and inspiration for the future reform and development of education and teaching in our school. Our school will continue to uphold the concept of open cooperation, actively learn from the advanced experience of brother universities, and continuously improve its educational level and comprehensive strength.
