Prof. Hamilton Conducted Lecture for Students Majoring in Public Administration

Professor Hamilton, from the Chutian Scholars and the University of Florida, was invited to give on-site lectures for the students, in order to cultivate students' international vision and enrich their extracurricular knowledge. On the afternoon of November 2, Professor Hamilton carried out a special lecture about the foreign retirement savings plan in the No.1 lecture hall in J5. The lecture was hosted by Ms. Yan Ni, the director of the Department of Public Administration, and Ms. Shen Jie, the head of the public administration course group, with the participation of all the students of the Department of Public Administration enrolled in 2021.

Prof. Hamilton introduced the US three-pillar pension system, the evolution of DB and DC pensions, and retirement savings plans, and analyzed different savings plans from the perspective of taxation and longevity. At the same time, he gave a brief overview of the pension plans in Australia, Chile, Canada and China, and used this as a comparison to raise questions. The whole lecture was very informative and insightful.

After the lecture, the two teachers gave a brief summary of what the professor had said. Students thought deeply about the content of the lecture and asked questions and exchanged ideas on the content of the lecture. Through the lecture, students gained a new understanding of the social security system in western countries, and also deeply realized that professional learning needs to grasp the cutting-edge dynamics at home and abroad, and constantly strengthen their knowledge reserves.
