The network and new media major of our collegehas officially enrolled students since 2016. After four years of training, this year's first graduates will soon graduate. In order to enable students to confer degrees on time, according to the requirements of the provincial education department and the University, our college held a Expert communication review meeting on authorization of newly added bachelor's degree in network and new media specialty on April 25, 2020. The meeting invited Vice Chairman of the Teaching Steering Committee of Journalism and Communication of the Ministry of Education, Professor Qiang Yuexin, Dean of School of Journalism and Communication of Wuhan University, Professor Zhang Mingxin, Dean of School of Information and Communication of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Liao Shengwu, Dean of School of Journalism and Communication of Hubei University, Professor Tian Hao and Professor Sun Baolin of Hubei University of Economics, as assessor experts, to conduct a communication review on the application report of new degree authorization for network and new media majors in our college.

After carefully reading the application report on the degree authorization of network and new media in our college, five experts agreed that: the network and new media major in our college can meet the needs of social talents, rely on the advantages of the school's economics and management discipline and computer science, and cultivate the network and new media application talents urgently needed to serve the local economic construction. The professional orientation and personnel training objectives are clear and forward-looking. In the past four years, the college has taken measures in line with its own reality, and has achieved remarkable results in terms of teaching staff, training path and curriculum construction. The experts also put forward pertinent constructive opinions on the problems existing in the specialty construction, pointing out the direction for the construction of network and new media specialty in our college.
