On the afternoon of November 1, the college held a symposium on the training of journalism talents, and invited Xia Jing, the stationmaster of the Guangming Daily in Hubei, to come to the college for exchanges. Wang Yuankun, Tang Zhongqiu, Peng Shuxiong and some teachers attended the meeting. The symposium was hosted by President Wang. At the meeting, Xia Jing reporter introduced the history of Guangming Daily and believed that teachers should always put the proposition of combining teaching theory and practice in the first place in the process of education and teaching. At the same time, she used the group of teachers in the intellectuals as an example to discuss the actual living conditions of intellectuals. In the problem-solving session, Xia Qing and other teachers asked Xia Jing questions about the contents and methods of Guangming Daily, and Xia Jing answered them patiently. Later, she made a brief analysis of the layout and content of Guangming Daily.

After the symposium, Vice President Peng Shuxiong presented the paintings to the Xia Jing reporter on behalf of the college.
