From March 22 to 24, Professor Deng Yi, Professor Mao Yan and Zhou Xuande were entrusted by Beijing Tianheng Sustainable Development Research Institute to provide eco-tourism technical consultation for GEF small grant project in Wenhai village, Lijiang city, Yunnan province.

Wenhai Village, Yulong County, Lijiang City, is located in the provincial nature reserve of Lashihai, Yunnan Province. It faces double pressures of ecological protection and community development. Developing eco-tourism is the main way to solve the contradiction between man and land in protected areas. Teachers of our college held 5 symposiums in Wenhai village with Lijiang tourism bureau, Lashihai nature reserve management bureau, village Committee cadres and villagers' representatives, and inspected the protection facilities and eco-tourism resources of Wenhai village on site. During the discussion, our teachers objectively analyzed the development stage and existing problems of eco-tourism in Wenhai village, and provided technical advice to the local area from the aspects of identification and cultivation of eco-tourism projects, design and marketing of eco-tourism products, and organizational change of eco-tourism.

Our faculty also reached an intention to further cooperate with the project's implementing party, Beijing Tianheng Institute for Sustainable Development.
