From June 1stto 2nd, a consultative meeting on the pilot evaluation of Sanjiangyuan National Park, organized by Paulson Foundation and Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration, was held in Beijing. Experts and scholars from the National People's Congress, the Ministry of Ecological Environment, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Development Research Center of the State Council, Tsinghua University and other institutions, as well as foreign expert group members led by Professor Jonathan B.Jarvis, former director of the National Park Service (2009-2017) and currently executive director of the Institute of Parks and Biodiversity at the University of California, Berkeley, attended the meeting. As a member of the Chinese expert group, professor Deng yi of our hospital was also invited to attend.
According to the requirements of the "Overall Plan for the Establishment of National Park System" issued by the general offices of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the 11 national park system pilot projects in the country will gradually undergo the acceptance and evaluation stage in 2020. In order to ensure that the Sanjiangyuan National Park pilot passed the national acceptance smoothly, Paulson Foundation and the Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration jointly invited Professor Jarvis as the team leader to form a foreign expert group, and conducted in-depth field visits to the Sanjiangyuan National Park, and made suggestions on the construction of the Sanjiangyuan National Park pilot based on the experience of the United States. At the evaluation consultation meeting, Chinese and foreign experts exchanged opinions and views on how to build a national park with Chinese characteristics from the aspects of national park system, ecological protection, financial mechanism, community development, recreation management, etc. Professor Deng yi introduced to foreign experts the division of financial powers and financial mechanism of China's national parks, and discussed relevant issues with domestic and foreign experts.
