The hotel management department held an online guest lecture on Wanli Haocheng Spring in 2020

On March 11, 2020, from 12: 00 noon to 13: 30 noon, the online cooperative course of CLE International Hotel was grandly opened. The registered CLE students and course instructors from more than 50 cooperative s, including our hotel Q1841, gathered together on the ZOOM platform to learn the first lesson Global Tourism Hotel Market Comparison and Development taught by Gene Lamke, a tenured honorary professor of San Diego State University in the United States for more than 50 years. 

 

CLE course is a new international online sharing course launched by Wanli Haocheng, which uses the mode of Internet+education to build a global learning community and fill the resource gap of internationalization, soft power and industry in s and universities. All registered students can get certification after graduation. This course integrates the huge teaching resources of Marriott Family Foundation's Wanli Haocheng Project, and is backed by Marriott Hotel Group's aircraft carrier background. It is divided into six modules: global vision of the industry, corporate strategic management, industry soft power training, front-line department operation of housing and catering, second-line department operation of human resources, finance and engineering, and market and revenue management. The lecturer group consists of famous professors from universities in the United States/United Arab Emirates/Australia/Singapore, hotel industry elites, senior teaching consultants and local university teachers.

 

Professor Gene Lamke (Professor Du), taking Ma Yun's story as an example, analyzed the comparison and development trend of the global tourism hotel industry market from five sections. From the perspective that science and technology continue to promote tourism development and experience will become the core of tourism, the hotel industry's interactive customer service experience increases; From looking at the global development trend to gathering the influence of COVID-19 pneumonia epidemic on China's tourism and hotel industry, this paper gives the development trend of nearly 20 global tourism and hotel industries, and analyzes the future of the hotel industry. 

 

After class, students expressed their recognition and expectation for the course. Zheng Weitong of Hotel Q1841 said, Today, for the first class, I participated in the course with anticipation and excitement. It is inevitable that there will be many minor problems for the first time, such as card dropping, etc., but it will not affect the enthusiasm of exploring and learning at all. Professor Du's cordial and patient explanation and sharing, teachers' intimate and careful translation operation in the background, and students' active participation in voting and answering all reflect everyone's love and seriousness for the course. I gained a lot of knowledge in the first class today, and I am looking forward to learning later!  . Know the global hotel brand and service standards, enterprise strategic management and the soft power that industry practitioners must possess, master the relevant operational knowledge and practice of hotel departments such as housekeeping, catering, human resources, marketing, engineering and revenue management, and possess the global vision of the industry, innovation awareness and management skills.
