（By DONG Qian）From October 22 to 27, LIANG Hui and ZHAN Li, teachers of the Department of Hotel Management of our college, went to Liuzhou, Guangxi to attend the certified training and examination of certified hotel trainer CHT (Certified Hospitality Trainer), and had in-depth exchanges with experts from the Education College of American Hotel Association and academic colleagues from other universities and hotel enterprises.
The registered hotel senior trainer CHT is a hotel professional qualification certification designed for training high-level professional trainers in hotels. The certification courses include training and development, training and development as investment, training demand analysis, instructional design, training tools and technology, high-tech training, measurement and evaluation of training and development, training trainers, induction training and integration, training hourly workers, career guidance, development of supervision and management, professional manager education, etc. After this training, the two participating teachers not only have a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the theories, knowledge and skills required by hotel professional trainers, but also have a deeper thinking on the application of relevant theories, tools and technologies in higher education. I believe this training will definitely further enhance the teaching ability and professional level of participating teachers.
The hotel management department strictly implements the "Five-Year Development Plan for Teachers", and promotes both academic and practical abilities. At present, there are 2 Chinese catering service masters, 6 national registered assessors of green hotel & green catering, 6 registered assessors of Human Resources and Social Welfare Department in occupational skill testing authority, 1 national tourism standardization expert, 3 provincial tourism standardization experts, 1 restaurant and hotel grade assessor, 1 national second-class psychological consultant, and 1 referee of vocational skills competition in Hubei life service industry. This training has made the hotel management department take another step forward in the construction of "double-qualified" teachers, which will definitely play a positive role in further improving the teaching level and talent training quality of hotel management specialty.
