In March 2021, at the 8th plenary (expanded) meeting of the 3rd CPC Committee of the University, the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management won the award of the Advanced Unit in the 2020 Annual Goal and Responsibility Assessment. Dean Deng Yi received the medal on behalf of the school.
The year 2020 is an extraordinary year in the history of the College. Under the great challenge brought by the COVID-19 epidemic, the faculty and students of the school still made outstanding achievements in personnel training, such as the construction of highly skilled culinary personnel team, the construction of scientific research platform and the employment of students. Professor Zou Zhiping was awarded the title of "National Advanced Worker" and "Hubei Craftsman" by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. Miss Shen Sijing won the silver medal in the first national vocational skills competition of western cooking, and the title of National Upward and Good Youth. "Dish of Chinese Lotus Root" won the highest provincial news and publication award "Hubei Publication Government Award", and "National Park Management and System Innovation Team" was awarded the outstanding PI team of the school. Provincial Department of Commerce authorized the establishment of Hubei Chu Cuisine Research Institute, cooking training center was approved by the "Hubei Province high skill talent training base", students have won many national and provincial discipline competition awards, and so on.
