On September 19th, the 2nd National Vocational Skills Competition of the People's Republic of China concluded in Tianjin. Faculty member Xiawei Li from the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at HUE won the gold medal in the Cooking (Chinese Cuisine) category. Hong Fu, Vice President of Hubei University of Economics; Yi Deng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management at HUE; Zhiping Zou, President of the Chu Cuisine Modern Industry College and cooking (Chinese food) referee, attended the closing ceremony.
Approved by the State Council, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has regularly organized the National Vocational Skills Competition of the People's Republic of China since 2020. This competition is the highest-level, most extensive, and influential comprehensive national vocational skills event since the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Cooking (Chinese Cuisine) category was selected as an elite event for the first time in the national competition. The competition consists of six modules, including carving, cold dishes, hot dishes, and pastry, making it the most comprehensive and demanding individual all-around competition ever.
