Art and Design College Student Teams Excel in National Digital Media Technology and Creative Competition


News from this website (Correspondent: Tao Ran)- From November 24th to 27th, the eleventh National Digital Media Technology and Creative Competition, hosted by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and the Organizing Committee of the National University Student Digital Media Technology and Creative Competition, held its national finals in Changzhou, Jiangsu. The Art and Design College had three teams qualify for the national finals, and with outstanding performances in project evaluations and on-site defense presentations, all three teams were awarded the National Second Prize. This marked the first participation of the Art and Design College students in the competition, achieving a remarkable total of 3 National Second Prizes, 15 National Third Prizes, and 24 Provincial Third Prizes. Additionally, our university received the National Outstanding Organization Award.

On November 25th, led by Dean Gu Chen, along with instructors Tao Ran and Luo Ying, the three qualified student teams traveled to the Changzhou West Taihu International Expo Center for the national finals, competing against over 1,100 teams from universities nationwide for the National First and Second Prizes. The impressive results demonstrated the solid professional skills and profound expertise of our College's students, showcasing the fruitful outcomes of the College's efforts in enhancing students' professional competence through discipline-based competitions.

The Art and Design College has consistently used discipline-based competitions as a catalyst for cultivating innovative talents and promoting the comprehensive development of students. While deepening educational reforms, the College cleverly integrates ideological and political education, professional education, and competition practice education, ensuring that innovation and practice are integrated throughout the entire undergraduate education process. In this competition, students from the College exhibited outstanding innovation awareness, practical abilities, and teamwork spirit, fully embodying the College's philosophy and practice of nurturing innovative talents. It serves as another practical demonstration of the College's commitment to using competitions to drive teaching, learning, and creativity.

The competition received over 70,000 submissions and involved more than 200,000 teachers and students. The finals showcased students' abilities through on-site competition and industry expert evaluations, facilitating direct communication between universities and enterprises and accelerating the coordinated development between talent cultivation in universities and societal development needs.

The eleventh National University Student Digital Media Technology and Creative Competition in 2023 has been included in the Ministry of Education's list of university student discipline competitions. It has become a significant competition leading the integration of science, technology, and art, promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and practical skill enhancement among university students. The competition has gained broad participation and active support from both 985 and 211 Double First-Class universities and ordinary higher education institutions, with the quantity and quality of submissions increasing year by year, earning recognition from the digital creative industry.
