The School of Foreign Languages implements online teaching in an orderly manner

(Reporter: Xia Wei) In accordance with the Teaching Arrangement of Hubei University of Economics during COVID-19 Pandemic and the Notice on Initiating the Second Semester of the 2019-2020 School Year, the leaders of the School of Foreign Languages called on all teachers and students to overcome the difficulties, and achieve the goal of “unsuspended teaching and studying” and “studying as scheduled under delayed registration” to ensure the quality of education.

In early February, the School of Foreign Languages set up a teaching leadership group and an online teaching guidance group, and issued the Teaching Arrangement of the School of Foreign Languages during COVID-19 Pandemic, which required relevant departments (including postgraduate education) to appropriately plan and arrange the teaching tasks based on their specific situations, and organize the teachers to learn how to use the Chaoxing e-learning platform based on the overall requirements of the university. At the same time, the teaching management department and relevant departments sorted out the courses of current semester one by one, coordinated the teaching resources, and carefully determined the online teaching methods and teachers based on the actual conditions.

All teachers of the School of Foreign Languages made every effort to overcome the difficulties as required, and actively attended the training sessions on online teaching to learn and understand the online teaching technology as early as possible. They carefully prepared the lessons and online teaching plans, tested the teaching devices, and exercised the online teaching process to ensure the successful implementation of online teaching. In the process of online teaching, the teachers showed their great talents, and successfully implemented the online teaching through the platforms like Chaoxing, QQ Live, Xueyin Online and FLTRP “U Campus”. In addition, they also communicated with the students, answered their questions, and assigned the homework through the WeChat groups and QQ groups.

According to statistics, the School of Foreign Languages successfully delivered all courses of current semester with the rate of 100%. Only through the Chaoxing platform, 66 teachers of the school delivered 217 classes for 19,170 students across the university.
