Overview
The Department of Electronic Engineering consists of 505 students and 22 faculty members made up of 15 full-time teachers, including three professors, four associate professors, six doctors, two doctoral candidates, six masters and two visiting professors.
The Department now has two first-level disciplines: Electronic Science and Technology, and Information and Communication Engineering that offer three discipline orientations: Electronic Circuit and System, Signal and Information Processing, as well as Communication and Information System along with an undergraduate program in Electronic Information Engineering, and two major fields, Embedded System and Application and Communication Engineering.
Under the Department, there are three teaching institutes: the teaching research offices of Electronic Information, of Communication and Embedded System along with a practical training center for Electronic Experiment and a research institute, the Communication Technology Institute of Image Logging.
In last three years, teachers of the Department supervised four provincial and ministerial level research programs and eight department and bureau level research programs. They also published over 70 papers in core journals domestically and internationally (including one in SCI and over 20 in EI); chiefly edited 11 textbooks (including a course book of the Eleventh Five-year Plan and an academic monograph ); took four second prizes and four third prizes in college teaching research achievement and hld one individual invention patent.
Over the last three years, students of the Department won 17 provincial and ministerial level prizes including the National Electronic Design Contest for College Students, National English Contest for College Students and National Mathematics Modeling Contest for College Students, among which there was a national first prize, a national second prize as well as 15 provincial group and individual prizes.
