From September 26 to 27, entrusted by China Engineering Education Professional Certification Association, the engineering education professional certification expert group headed by Professor Hong Mei of Sichuan University carried out an online certification examination for our software engineering specialty.

On the morning of the 26th, the online examination meeting was held, attended by all members of the expert group and all school leaders, and attended by heads of relevant functional departments of the school, vice presidents of relevant schools, leading groups of the School of Information Engineering and relevant teachers of software engineering.

Wen Xingsheng, secretary of the UCPC, welcomed the expert group on behalf of the University. Wen Xingsheng pointed out that the software engineering major is the first major to participate in the engineering education certification of our school, and also the only major in the same major in Hubei Province in 2022, which strongly confirms the school level accumulated in engineering. The university will actively implement the concept of continuous improvement of engineering education certification, constantly fill the gaps and weaknesses in the construction of engineering majors, persistently implement the fundamental task of establishing morality and cultivating talents, accelerate the transformation of the university's professional advantages into talents training, scientific innovation, and social service advantages, and comprehensively build a high-level university of finance and economics with distinctive characteristics.

President Fang Jie introduced the leapfrog development of the school to the expert group from four aspects: the discipline and specialty system is becoming more and more perfect, the construction of first-class teachers has achieved remarkable results, the scientific research and social service ability is rapidly improved, and the condition guarantee ability is constantly enhanced. Fang Jie asked relevant functional departments, the School of Information Engineering and the teachers participating in the evaluation to be serious about their work, timely and efficiently cooperate with the experts' investigation needs, show the original construction of the specialty to the experts for review, clarify the next work ideas for the reform of the software engineering specialty, and help our professional construction to a new level.

Professor Hong Mei, the leader of the expert group, explained the purpose, key points, main contents, specific process and methods of the online examination for professional certification. The person in charge of the software engineering major of the school made a supplementary explanation to the self-assessment report. The expert group inquired about the self-assessment report, and the heads of relevant departments of the University and relevant teachers of the School of Information Engineering answered on the spot.

During the online examination, the expert group reviewed the self-assessment report and related materials, checked the experimental teaching place of the software engineering specialty, interviewed the heads of relevant functional departments of the school, administrators of the Information Engineering School, professional teachers, students, employers and alumni representatives online, and further verified and gave feedback on the relevant issues in the self-assessment report.

On the afternoon of the 27th, at the online feedback meeting, Professor Hong Mei, the leader of the expert group, summarized the overall situation of the online examination, and the members of the expert group gave feedback on the examination opinions and suggestions. The examination team affirmed the school's education certification work and believed that the school attached great importance to the certification of software engineering specialty, and graduates and employers had a high degree of recognition of the school.

Fang Jie, on behalf of the University, thanked the expert group for their hard work and careful guidance, and pointed out that the University will continue to improve from three aspects: first, adhere to the problem orientation, focus on the implementation of rectification, and strive to make software engineering a national first-class undergraduate major with prominent advantages and distinctive characteristics; Second, we will continue to deepen reform, strengthen characteristic engineering, enable the discipline of economic management law with new engineering, promote the cross integration of engineering and economic management law, strengthen the development of engineering characteristics, and cultivate more outstanding engineering and technical talents that meet the needs of economic and social development; The third is to promote professional certification, create a quality culture, further increase support and investment in professional certification, lay a good foundation for more professional certification, lay a good foundation for a new round of undergraduate education and teaching audit and evaluation, and provide students with high-quality learning experience.

The software engineering major of our school began to recruit students in 2001. In 2021, it was approved as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site, and it is also the first major of our school to receive on-site examination by the engineering education certification expert group.
