Overview

      The School of International Trade maintains a faculty of 27, including 23 teachers, six professors, seven associate professors. Senior professional titles account for 59% of full-time teachers’. There are six part-time supervisors for masters, 1 academic leader and one teaching master at school-level and three school-level academics. Eight teachers hold Ph.D degrees with five more studying for their Ph.D. Teachers with M.S. degrees and above covers 96% of the full-time faculty. In recent years, many of our teachers have researched, visited and taught in America, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. They have formed close relationships with Chinese and foreign academic research institutions, colleges and universities, government departments and relevant enterprises. Since 2004, they have been enrolled as group members by CAIT (China Association of International Trade), CIECOS (China International Economic Cooperation Society), CSWE (China Society of World Economics), the Specialized Committee for International Trade and Investment of CSWE, the International Trade Subject Cooperative Group, Hubei Society of World Economics and the Hubei Society of International Economics and Trade.

      The academic discipline of International Trade at our school was formed at the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s. In 2004, theInternational Trade was validated as a school-level key discipline. After years of development, three research fields including Trade and Environment, Service Economy and Service Trade, Multinational Trade and Internationalization of Enterprises have been formed. WTO and Hubei Research Institutions of Service and Trade Development have also been established. A modern professional laboratory allows for the simulation of foreign trade. The School has five undergraduate programs and majors, including International Economy and Trade, International Business, International Economy and Trade (Experimental Class), International Economy and Trade (International Service Trade) and International Economy and Trade (WTO). International Economy and Trade is now a brand undergraduate program in Hubei province. It is also a provincial key discipline, posted for Hubei Chutian Scholars. In 2009, the School took the lead in receiving foreign students and built highly cooperative relations withAuburn University at Montgomery. Students now study in the US through“2+2” mode or “3+1” mode. The employment rate of these undergraduate students has also remained above 90%.
