On the morning of Oct 13th, we held the welcome meeting for international students of 2017 in Classroom 521 in FaShang Building. People who attended the meeting were: the Vice-President He Huigang, the Dean of Teaching Affairs Office Tao Qiangong, the Dean of School of Journalism and Communication Wang Yongkun, the Dean of School of International Education Wang Hong, the Vice-Dean of School of Business Administration Li Yalin, the Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation＆Exchange Department Li Yong, course lecturers Sun Xuan, Ye Huali, Zhang jinjun, and Wei xiaoyan.
The meeting was held by Song Ling, the Student Advisor of the School of International Education. The Dean of SIE Wang Hong, made an opening remarks to welcome all the international students on behalf of the entire staff and the students of HBUE. The Vice-President, He Huigang, gave an important speech. First, the Vice-President briefly introduced the basic situation about Wuhan city and our university. Then, he raised expectations and requirements on international students: to get good professional knowledge through hard study, to abide by the rules and regulations of the People’s Republic of China and the university, to care and help each other, and to learn and make progress together.
At the meeting, international students made self-introductions one by one. The Vice-President distributed the textbooks of the new term to international students. After the meeting, Professor Liu Hongmei from School of Business Administration introduced the major to students. Dean of SIE explained Administrative Regulation of International Students in Hubei University of Economics and Regulation of Status Management for International Students.
