On November 26, a three-member delegation including Sun Guodong, Director of Energy Technology and Policy School at Stony Brook University and founding Executive Director of New York Energy Policy Institute (NYEPI), visited HBUE. Stony Brook University is a member university in the New York State University system and a member of the American University Association (AAU), ranking in the top 100 within US universities and famous for its superb research achievements. Directors of International Exchange & Cooperation Department warmly received the guests and held an academic cooperation meeting, joined by academic heads from the Center of Hubei Cooperative Innovation for Emissions Trading System, the School of Environment Resources and International Trade and the School of Finance and Public Administration.
During the meeting, the two parties introduced respective schools, and had an in depth discussion of the joint establishment of international research platforms for Emissions Trading system and “3.5+0.5+1” fast track combined Bachelor and master degree program for such specialties as Energy & Environment System, Energy Technology & Policy and Global Technology Management and etc. Professor Sun Guodong displayed great interest in our school’s study of a carbon emissions trading system, and he wishes to establish a higher level of scientific research cooperation between HBUE and NYEPI.
At noon, the university held an Academic Salon for guests from Stony Brook University and our school faculty. Professor Sun made a presentation on the topic of “Sustainable and Resilient Energy Infrastructure: Challenge, investment, and management” and then had an insightful discussion and views were exchanges with school teachers.
