From March 28th to April 4th, Sino-German youth art exchange activities were carried out in our school. On March 28, at the opening ceremony, Vice President He Huigang attended and delivered a speech. A total of 17 teachers and students of German group and representatives of teachers and students from the School of Art and Design participated.
Our university and the Open Arts Association of Potsdam in Brandenburg, Germany, have hosted the Sino-German youth art exchanges since 2009 and have successfully held 8 events. In 2018, the theme of the Sino-German youth art exchanges was the Silk Road. It aims to interpret the Chinese millennium ancient Silk Road culture in the form of modern art, passing on the cultural road, the trade route, and the friendship road.
During the event, the German teachers and students visited the Hubei Provincial Museum and Art Museum to experience the Chu culture. They studied Chinese calligraphy, painting, seal cutting, and carried out creative practices. The teachers and students of the School of Art and Design jointly held the resurrection of Western culture and art Festival activities. This was achieved with the school Youth League Committeeand the Academy of Art and Design. Both participants jointly organized a small dance party to showcase traditional Chinese and Western performing arts.
The teachers and students of the German and school of Art and Design carried out concentrated creations. Using the countries of China’s “Ancient Silk Road” as clues, they created portrait mask works representing China, India, Pakistan, Arab countries, European countries, and African countries. Create songs and dances. On April 3, the creative results were displayed in the form of a campus tour starting from Zhongxing Plaza, passing through the West District Student Dormitory, the North Gate, and the East District Student Dormitory, and then returned to Zhongxing Plaza, causing the attention of teachers and students.
