On September 7th, our university signed CIMA Program cooperation agreement with Chartered Institute of Management Accountant. A 5-person delegation from CIMA including its President Andrew Miskin, and Xu Guodong, the Chief Inspector of Mainland China Business Sector, visited us. On behalf of Hubei University of Economics, President Qi Laying met with the delegation and had a cordial conversation.
At the agreement signing ceremony, Vice President He conveyed his welcome to the delegates and particularly showed his appreciation to President Miskin for his continued efforts in enhancing the partnership and promoting the collaboration. Then he talked about our university’s history, development and emphasized the importance of introducing CIMA Program, which greatly suits our needs in cultivating professionals with international competitiveness and promoting the school strategy of internationalization. He expressed his expectation for bilateral cooperation at even higher level.
Andrew Miskin introduced the basic information and future trend of CIMA. He believes management accountants have been increasing important to companies and have drawn more and more attention from governments worldwide, Chinese government is no exception as its Ministry of Finance has published the Guidance on Comprehensively Advancing the Construction of Management Accounting System. He showed his confidence in future promotion of CIMA program in China and new engine this program would serve in cultivating more well-trained professionals in our university in the field of management and accounting.
In this cooperative CIMA program, teachers of our university will be expected to have professional training twice every year and students will have more opportunities of internship and employment in multinational enterprises.
