Recently, the ministry of education has announced the list of national and provincial top-class undergraduate specialty construction sites in 2019. Two undergraduate majors of economics and international economics and trade are recognized as the top-class undergraduate specialty construction points at the provincial level.

Economics, international economics and trade, as the excellent majors of our academy, has gone through long-term construction, development and accumulation. The economics has been approved as a provincial brand major, a provincial major comprehensive reform pilot major, and Jingchu outstanding economic management talent collaborative education plan, winning two items of Hubei provincial teaching achievement awards. In recent years, significant achievements have been made in the exploration and reform of the “strong foundation, experimental and practical” talent training model, excellent resource sharing courses, and internationalized course construction. The International economics and trade major is the first group of majors awarded the bachelor’s degree in our school, which is an advantageous major supported by the school. It has built a provincial-level excellent course, a provincial-level video sharing course, an excellent school-level teaching team, and it’s foreign trade simulation laboratory becomes a project supported by the ministry of finance. For 6 consecutive years, the students of this major have participated in the foreign trade practice ability competition held by China Foreign Trade Association and won the first prize of the group.

In the future, the college will further increase the construction and innovation of provincial first-class majors in economics, international economics and trade, accelerate the reform of undergraduate talent training model, strengthen the construction of professional connotation, and strive to be selected as a national first-class undergraduate major.
