At the meeting,Yin Qingshan, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Marxism,conveyed the spirit of documents such as the Ministry of Education's Strictly forbidding teachers from accepting gifts from students and parents in violation of the law and Opinions on establishing a sound long-term mechanism for the construction of teacher morality in colleges and universities, and led the study of the Ten Guidelines on Professional Conduct of Teachers in Colleges and Universities in the New Era, the Guiding Opinions on the Treatment of Teacher Moral Misconduct in Colleges and Universities and other documents on teacher morality construction. He informed the typical cases of individual teachers' misconduct in recent years, and combined with the cases, warned all teaching staff to strictly abide by the norms of teacher ethics, strengthen self-cultivation, abide by the law and strictly abide by the bottom line.
Yin Qingshan stressed that the construction of teacher ethics is an inevitable requirement for the in-depth implementation of the Party's education policy in the new era, based on the fundamental task of establishing moral education, and has received great attention from the central government, governments at all levels and competent departments in recent years. We should be guided by Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and conscientiously implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on education.
He also gave an in-depth explanation of how to adhere to academic ethics and research ethics, practise academic norms, internalise academic ethics and scientific spirit, cultivate a clean scientific research environment and cultivate a scientific culture of rigour and truthfulness, emphasising that all teaching staff should not only be proficient in professional knowledge, but also cultivate moral conduct and serve as teachers. It is hoped that teachers will further raise their awareness, clarify the importance of teacher ethics, consciously abide by the code of professional conduct for teachers, and enhance their sense of responsibility and mission in teaching and educating others with the starting and ending points of building moral values.
Through the study of documents related to teacher morality and the warning of negative cases, as well as the issuance of the Guidance Manual of Academic Ethics of the School of Marxism, this activity enabled all teachers to have a deeper understanding of the importance of teachers establishing themselves with morality, learning with morality and teaching with morality, and enhanced the ideological and operational consciousness of all teachers and teaching staff members to abide by the ten guidelines of professional conduct of teachers.
