The 21st JMS China Marketing Science Annual Conference and Doctoral Forum was held in Shanghai. This annual conference is hosted by the Journal of Marketing Science, organized by the Asia Europe Business School of East China Normal University, supported by the Shanghai International Chief Technology Officer College as an academic institution, Credamo as an industry support institution, and guided by the Department of Management Science of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Market Research Association of Chinese Universities, and the Marketing Professional Committee of the China Management Modernization Research Association. Our vice deans, Ms. Ye Min and Ms. Qian Ling, as well as Ms. Zhou Qing and Ms. Yuan Wei from the Marketing Department, attended the meeting.
At the opening ceremony on the morning of November 1st, more than 500 teachers and graduate student representatives from universities across the country, as well as a large number of national talents and JMS editors, gathered at East China Normal University to jointly launch this year's conference theme "Marketing Science and Business Innovation in the New AI Era". Professor Shi Guoyue, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of East China Normal University, warmly welcomes all attending guests, teachers and students on behalf of the organizing unit; Professor Sun Yacheng, Chairman of the JMS PhD Forum and Tsinghua University, expressed his best wishes for the forum in his speech; Professor Liu Hongju from Peking University gave a comprehensive analysis of the development of empirical research in marketing: integration and innovation; Professor Liu Wenjing from Tsinghua University sincerely shares his experience and thoughts on his research during his doctoral studies; Professor Tian Lin from Fudan University lit up a bright light on the path of pursuing a PhD with the title "Some detours I have taken in pursuing a PhD"; Professor Wang Liangyan from Shanghai Jiao Tong University conducts valuable and high-level scientific research on the integration and innovation of brand management environment; The authors of award-winning papers from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Renmin University of China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and other schools made academic reports respectively, and Professor Zeng Fu'e of Wuhan University, Professor Sun Qi of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Professor Cai Fengyan of Shanghai Jiaotong University made brilliant comments on the reported papers respectively.
During the annual conference from November 2nd to 3rd, six outstanding entrepreneurs from Fortune 500 companies, brand owners, and top consulting firms gave keynote speeches from an industry perspective at the "JMS China Entrepreneur Forum". At the same time, the marketing teaching forum and 12 parallel sub forums are in full swing. On the afternoon of November 3rd, the conference entered the closing ceremony. The conference invited Professor Zhang Ying, the editor in chief of the Journal of Marketing Science and vice dean of the Guanghua School of Management at Peking University, to share his exploration of the application of artificial intelligence in behavioral research, marking a wonderful conclusion to the annual conference.
The participation in this conference not only deepened the understanding of our college teachers on the theme of "Marketing Science and Business Innovation in the New AI Era", but also provided an opportunity for in-depth exchanges with numerous renowned scholars and entrepreneurs, drawing valuable experience and cutting-edge ideas for the development of our marketing discipline. In the future, we will continue to encourage and support teachers to actively participate in various high-level academic conferences, continuously improve their research and teaching levels, and contribute to the cultivation of marketing professionals with international perspectives and innovative abilities.
