On July 3rd, Shi Guohong, deputy director of the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, led a team of eight people from the Municipal Vocational Capacity Building Department and the Municipal Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center to our school to inspect the training and selection work for our freight forwarding project at the Wuhan Training Base. He Huigang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Hubei University of Economics, and head of the leading group of World Skills Competition; Tao Qiangong, Director of the Academic Affairs Office; Chen Xinwu, Executive Deputy Director of the Experimental Teaching Center; Leng Kaijun, Vice President of the College of Business Administration; Zou Zhiping, Professor of the Tourism and Hotel Management major; Zhou Jianya, head of the freight forwarding project at Wuhan Training Base; and related personnel participated in the inspection.
The inspection team first went the office of the freight forwarding project at the Wuhan Training Base and the players training classroom to inspect the relevant materials of the base, learn about pandemic prevention and control situations during the training, the training schedule, the implementation of training plans, the situations of off-campus training, the situations of hiring domestic and foreign experts, and the situations of providing training services.
The inspection team was briefed on the training and selection work of the freight forwarding project at the Wuhan Training Base for the 46th World Skills Competition by Zhou Jianya, head of the freight forwarding project at the Wuhan Training Base. Later, the inspection team inspected the players training plan, training service guarantee and other issues, and provided on-site guidance.
After that, the inspection team inspected the training base of cooking (Western food) for the World Skills Competition. Professor Zou Zhiping, a Chinese culinary master, introduced the training activities the base had carried out since last year, and the trainees demonstrated the achievements they had made through the training.
Shi Guohong and his team spoke highly of the measures the Wuhan Training Base had taken for the training and selection of players of the freight forwarding project for the 46th World Skills Competition, and put forward requirements for the training and selection work at the next stage. Shi Guohong emphasized that while training outstanding players for the international competition, the training base should also work with enterprises and industries to train more than tens of thousands of practical talents, and at the same time, improve the training system for players of freight forwarding project and cooking (Western food) so that they would achieve the best results in the World Skills Competition to be held in August 2021.
Vice president Professor He Huigang said that as the only university in Wuhan that had two training bases for the World Skills Competition, our university would implement the work requirements made by the leading group of the World Skills Competition under the guidance and support of Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, invest more in the construction of the two bases, strengthen the training level, and improve players’ ability so that they would win greater honor for Wuhan, Hubei and China.
