Students from the Engineering Management visited the Hubei Provincial Construction Technology Museum

On June 5, 2025, to broaden students' professional horizons and enhance their practical understanding, the School of Business Administration organized first-year students majoring in Engineering Management to visit the Hubei Construction Technology Museum for a cognitive internship. The internship was led by instructors Huang Ge, Wang Shuqi, and Ni Yanling.

At the Hubei Building Science and Technology Museum, students primarily visited four major exhibition halls: Ancient Architecture, Modern Architecture, Future Architecture, and Jingchu Architecture. These halls comprehensively showcase the architectural culture of ancient China, modern architectural technology, future architectural prospects, and the achievements of Jingchu architecture. Through the use of advanced high-tech methods, they present the developmental journey of Chinese architectural culture over several millennia.

The Ancient Architecture Exhibition Hall displays architectural models from ancient times to the present, such as the East Hall of Foguang Temple on Mount Wutai, the largest wooden structure from the Tang Dynasty; the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, the world's oldest and tallest all-wooden high-rise tower; as well as restored models of ancient structures like the Hall of Supreme Harmony in the Forbidden City of Beijing and the Songyue Temple Pagoda. These vividly showcase the evolution of architectural craftsmanship.

The modern architecture exhibition hall showcases skyscrapers from different periods in contemporary China, ranging from the 383-meter-tall Shenzhen Diwang Tower completed in 1985 to the 632-meter-tall Shanghai Tower, China's tallest building, completed in 2016. These structures represent not only a leap in numerical height but also the continuous advancement of China's architectural technology.

The Future Architecture Exhibition Hall displays models of futuristic architectural concepts, such as underwater residences, vertical cities, walking cities, and smart cities in the 5G era, fully showcasing the boundless imagination of designers.

The Jiangchu Architecture Exhibition Hall displays models of many landmark buildings from the Jiangchu region, such as the Jianghan Customs Building, Gu De Temple, and core structures of the Hankou Concession. It also employs holographic imaging technology to vividly recreate nine classic Jiangchu architectural landmarks, including the Wuhan Theater, Wuhan Railway Station, Tianhe Airport, and Greenland Center.

This event aims to allow students to closely experience the developmental history of architecture through on-site visits and learning, appreciate the art of ancient architecture and the distinctive features of Jingchu architecture, experience the charm of modern architectural technology, and gain an in-depth understanding of cutting-edge technologies and trends in the construction industry. This cognitive internship deepens students' comprehension of the engineering management discipline and sparks their interest and enthusiasm in architectural technology.
