(Correspondent Dan Jin）On May 22nd, the National Finals of the 21st “FLTRP Cup” National English Debating Competition ended at Beijing International Studies University. Nearly 109 teams from 100 universities and colleges participated in the competition. After six days of round-robin competition and fierce competition at the knockout stage, the Hubei University of Economics (HBUE) Team, represented by Ma Xuan and Guo Xiaoxiao, members of the English speaking and debating team of HBUE, won the third prize in the finals.

“FLTRP Cup” National English Debating Competition is a national English Competition with the largest scale and the highest level in China, which is jointly hosted by the School Department of the Central Committee of Communist Youth League, China Students’ Federation and Beijing International Studies University and co-hosted by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.  Song Lai, deputy Minister of the School Department of the Central Committee of Communist Youth League, Zhang Jianmin, director of the Department of Translation and Interpretation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sun Youzhong, Vice President of Beijing International Studies University, and Xu Jianzhong, editor-in-chief of the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press attended the finals and the award ceremony.
