From October 15 to 17, the 2021 academic annual meeting of the basin economic development professional committee of the Yangtze River Institute of technology and economics and the academic seminar on high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in the new development stage were successfully held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The conference was hosted by the River Basin Economic Development Professional Committee of Changjiang Institute of technology and economics and Zhejiang University of Finance and economics, and undertaken by the school of economics of Zhejiang University of Finance and economics. Professor Li Hao, Executive Deputy Secretary General of the Yangtze River economic belt high quality development think tank alliance, was invited to attend the meeting and made a report entitled difficulties and Countermeasures of Lake wetland protection and management - Taking Honghu wetland as an example. Liu Hanquan, assistant to the president of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development Strategy Research Institute, and Wu Siyu, Secretary of the alliance, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Professor Li Hao discussed the possible path of wetland protection taking the practice of Honghu wetland protection as an example under the background that the CPC Central Committee attaches great importance to wetland protection. There are some difficulties in the protection of Honghu wetland, such as the inconsistency between the water quality assessment objectives and the actual situation, the lack of systematic planning and management, and the financial difficulties. Moreover, the wetland is between the government purchased ecological products and the market purchased ecological products, and does not have significant ecological or economic value, so it is difficult to obtain sustainable protection and management. In this regard, Professor Li pointed out that annual assessment indicators that can be implemented should be set; Improve the management authority and build a comprehensive management system; Explore the establishment of wetland carbon neutralization pilot demonstration area, pilot wetland carbon sequestration and sink increase, and establish a value realization mechanism of ecological products.

On October 17, the group went to Yu village, the birthplace of Anji's two mountains theory, to carry out on-site study on practicing the concept of green development and promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
