In order to promote the construction of professional connotation, improve the quality monitoring system of education and teaching, enhance the level of internationalization in running the school, and improve the quality of talent training, Hubei University of Economics initiated the professional accreditation work of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) in 2021 and has officially become a member of the ACBSP.

Professional accreditation is an important way to improve the quality of professional education and has become an indispensable part of the quality monitoring and evaluation system of higher education. In recent years, the Ministry of Education has attached great importance to undergraduate professional accreditation work, proposing to promote the improvement of professional construction quality through three levels of professional accreditation: basic quality standard accreditation, national quality standard accreditation, and international quality standard accreditation. With the certification concept of maintaining qualification, reaching a high level, and pursuing excellence, relying on the national teaching basic status data platform to carry out qualified accreditation for all majors, benchmarking the national standards for professional construction quality, and establishing a certification mechanism covering all disciplines and categories, international substantive equivalent professional accreditation has been carried out.

Following the basic principles of professional accreditation, progressive advancement, sustained investment, and achievement of benefits, HBUE is gradually promoting engineering education professional accreditation and international accreditation, and collaborating to advance  professional accreditation work.

Currently, the four majors of Finance, Accounting, E-commerce, and Logistics Management are actively carrying out ACBSP business professional accreditation work. In the future, HUBE will continue to use professional accreditation work as a means to continuously enhance the core competitiveness, industry influence, and social contribution of its majors, and to cultivate high-quality applied talents with an international perspective.

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) was founded in 1988 with the aim of providing a standardized accreditation system for business school programs to meet the increasing demands for teaching and learning. As the largest accreditation body for business schools in the United States, ACBSP currently has over 1220 member schools, of which 923 have successfully achieved accreditation, and individual members exceed 11,000 people. ACBSP accreditation standards and requirements are in line with the OBE concept, which encourages business schools to achieve their mission and build internal quality assurance systems, highlighting the characteristics and international competitiveness of their institutions. Business courses that have been accredited by ACBSP can have transferable credits among member universities/colleges worldwide, thereby achieving internationalization in teaching.
