On June 11 and June 12, two students from Frostburg State University in the United States arrived in Wuhan for a two-day cultural visit organized by the International Exchange and Cooperation Department and the School of International Education of Hubei University of Economics.

On the afternoon of June 11, the two students participated in a Sino-US food culture exchange and tasting activity with the teachers and students of the School of International Education, having a vivid and rich cross-cultural exchange from Chinese and western food culture to other different fields and levels.

On the morning of June 12, accompanied by students from the School of International Education, the two students visited the Coin Exhibition Hall in the library of Hubei University of Economics to understand the basic context of the development of coins in the world, and feel the social changes and human progress behind coins by following the footsteps of history.Subsequently, the two students appreciated the craftsmanship about burned foil fans, a Chinese intangible cultural heritage , and also made the round fans by hand, experiencing the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.

On the afternoon of June 12, guided by staff of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, the two students went to China Architecture Museum experiencing the ingenuity of traditional Chinese architecture, and then took the Air Rail sightseeing route in Optics Valley feeling the originality of Chinese contemporary transportation facilities.

After the visit, Daniel Baiyeshea, from the Department of Art at Frostburg State University, said Chinese art has a unique charm of adapting to local conditions and keeping pace with The Times. By appreciating the craft works of different times, it is easy to understand  craftsmen, ingenuity and craftsmanship in that era with following the footsteps of history. I hope I can have more opportunities to learn about Chinese art works of different eras and categories in the future, and  make contributions to the cultural and artistic exchanges between China and the United States as far as I can.
