The sixth Cross-Strait Youth East Lake Forum opened in Wuhan on May 31. More than 400 people, including leaders of Taiwan youth groups and youth representatives from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, gathered at Huazhong University of Science and Technology to refresh friendship, seek development and discuss the future. With the theme of Walking hand in hand · Youth Power, the core of development and integration and the main line of youth power , the forum is divided into three sections ---science and technology, health, culture, covering a series of activities such as the theme forum,the recruitment of Taiwan youth as interns and employees,the cruise on Yangtze River and its tributary Hanjiang River by youth from Taiwan and Hubei, riding on East Lake Greenway , Tour of Jingchu Culture, and Taiwan Youth Carnival.

    In cooperation with Wuhan University, Central China Normal University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, our university organized Taiwan teachers and students to participate in the opening ceremony and a series of activities such as the recruitment of Taiwan youth as interns and employees .

    Chen Xinyu, a student from the School of Economics and Trade of our University in Xinbei, Taiwan, said, This is my first time to participate in such a large-scale event. As soon to be a graduating senior, I pay special attention to the recruitment of Taiwan youth as interns and employees. I really value the development opportunities in the mainland and hope to stay here in the future.

    It is reported that the cross-Straits Youth East Lake Forum has been successfully held for five sessions since 2016, building a bridge of friendship for the cross-Straits youth in exchanges and mutual learning, promoting the soul of compatriots on both sides of the Strait, and creating a broad platform for exchanges, cooperation, integration and development of cross-strait economics and culture , and attracting wide attention from all walks of life on both sides. At present, the cross-Straits Youth East Lake Forum has become a well-known cross-Straits exchange and cooperation platform to promote economic and social development of Hubei province and attract Taiwanese youth to start businesses and work in Hubei.
