On September 13, sponsored by the Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts, HBUE hosted the 2024 Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival cultural program with foreign experts in Hubei and unveiling ceremony of Foreign Experts Book House. Hu Anwei, Director of the Provincial Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, Director of the Talent Department of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Xu Chuanhua, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and 15 foreign experts from 7 countries in Hubei participated in the program.
The unveiling ceremony of Foreign Experts Book House was held in the library of Hubei University of Economics. Hu Anwei, Xu Chuanhua jointly unveiled. And there are the first batch of 2,500 books in 8 languages, including Chinese, English, French, German and Russian in the library.
Under the guidance of the Foreign Promotion Bureau of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee and approval of the Foreign Talents Research Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Foreign Experts Book House aims to provide convenient gift and loan services for foreign experts, foreign friends and students in China, strengthening cultural exchanges and enhancing mutual learning among civilizations through books. At present, there are 13 book houses for foreign experts in Hubei Province.
During the cultural experience, representatives of foreign experts visited the Coin Exhibition Hall to learn about Chinese coins and major financial instruments in various historical periods since the pre-Qin period.Then they watched the documentary about Chu cuisine in Hubei Chu Cuisine Research Institute, and appreciated Chu cuisine master how to make classic Chu cuisine---it's a bite of Hubei. Experts experienced handmade mooncakes together at the National Training Base on Western Snacks of Chu Cuisine Research. Foreign experts immersed themselves in the charm of traditional Chinese festival through making mooncakes, tasting Jingchu food. Meanwhile they talked about Hubei innovation, and shared the friendship between China and foreign countries.
