In accordance with the reform directives of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government on integrated development of industry, academia, and research, and the coordinated implementation of fiscal and financial policies to support scientific and technological innovation as well as industrial innovation, and to better leverage the pivotal role of fiscal and financial measures in policy implementation, the Department of Finance of Hubei Province, together with relevant experts, conducted an exchange visit to the United Kingdom and France from October 29th to November 5th.
Professor Xu Chuanhua, Member of the Party Standing Committee and Director of the University Academic Committee, joined the delegation.
During the visit in the UK, the delegation met with the Cambridge City Council and conducted key visits to the Cambridge Science Park and Innovation Centre, Oxford AI Company, and the Imperial College London FinTech Centre. In France, the delegation met with the government of Dreux and focused on visiting the French National Federation of Organic Agriculture – Île-de-France Regional Branch.
Through these exchanges, the delegation gained in-depth insights into the fiscal and financial policy systems, implementation pathways, and management models of both countries. They also acquired a comprehensive understanding of the development status of local characteristic industries, investment environments, and government fiscal and financial support policies for enterprises, particularly successful experiences and practical models in technological innovation and industry-academia-research collaboration. These findings provide valuable references for Hubei Province in refining relevant support policies and optimizing fund management.
During the visit, Professor Xu Chuanhua also met with overseas alumni from our university who are pursuing further studies in the UK and France, encouraging them to contribute to the motherland and bring honor to their alma mater upon completion of their studies.
