President Qi Laying led a group and visited Umea University in Sweden and Moscow University of Finance and Law in Russia from May 25th to June 1st, 2016, and conducted in-depth and productive discussion respectively with two universities on student exchanges, faculty communications and program cooperation, etc, reaching many consensus and further expanding the cooperation between our university and universities in Europe.
At Umea University, President Anderson warmly welcomed our visiting group. He expressed his appreciation to what our existing collaboration have achieved, and he hoped two universities can take the student exchange in ACCA program as a springboard and further explore more potential cooperation opportunities. Later, President Qi and the group went to Umea Business School and met with the school Dean Prof. Sophia, and two sides exchanged their ideas on expanding the cooperation. The group then specially paid a visit to our exchange students at Umea Business School, and asked students about their study and living in Sweden and encouraged them to study hard, broaden horizons and improve their international competitiveness.

The second stop was Moscow University of Finance and Law. President Alex and the First Vice-Rector Oleg showed their great hospitality to our visiting group. After fully discussion, two universities reached a preliminary agreement on exchanges of students, teachers and staff, and joint conduction of scientific research and academic conference, and both parties showed great confidence in future cooperation. In that afternoon, Moscow University of Finance and Law held a grand ceremony for bilateral cooperation agreement signing and Honorary Professor appointment. President Qi Laying was appointed as the Honorary Professor of Moscow University of Finance and Law and awarded the appointment certificate by President Alex. Professor Qi gave a speech and then answered questions from teachers and students in regarding overseas study, students and faculties exchanges, cultural visit, scientific research collaboration and the development of Chinese higher education and Chinese culture.
